How It Works

OSC’s Zero Waste Packaging campaign will leverage 4 key resources to create awareness and encourage collective action to reduce or eliminate single-use plastics.

These 4 resources include:

  • Events + Webinars
  • Policy and Advocacy Pathways
  • Consumer Tips
  • Brand Storytelling

OSC will partner with its members, community partners, and thought leaders to amplify this message across the globe through #1SteptoZeroWaste tag line.

Campaign supporters can engage with the OSC Campaign in the following ways:

  • Re-Sharing OSC Posts
  • Sharing Campaign Assets
  • Creating Tailored Assets (within Campaign Guidelines/Partner Toolkit including policy components)
  • Make a Commitment (Climate Collaborative, US Plastics Pact, 10 Acts of Zero Waste, ASBC Petition)
  • Engagement with Legislators via ASBC
  • Joining circular economy dialogues on key topics monthly

In our industry-facing portion of the campaign which runs through the month of February leading into Expo West, we hope to inspire brands with stories of progress in the areas of plastic reduction, innovative material design, and plastic elimination. The purpose of this section is to create a narrative that supports brands who are on a Zero Waste Journey, and to celebrate those who have made successful transitions away from conventional plastics across their value chains.

Whether you’ve made progress on packaging, are in the midst of creating a packaging strategy, or are in the very early stages of your packaging journey – we’ve created a Partner Toolkit that anyone can use in order to contribute to the campaign. The Toolkit contains everything from social  media content and copy, email templates, web assets, campaign logos, badges and more. We’re calling on our industry partners to leverage this toolkit to spread awareness and encourage engagement from your networks.
