Building the infrastructure for authentic stakeholder economics

Co-founded by OSC, Dr. Bronner’s, and LIFT Economy in 2025, Purpose Pledge is an independent community of practice dedicated to cultivating right relationship, upholding mutual accountability, and advancing the transition to authentic stakeholder economics. Through shared commitments, peer accountability, and capability building, participating companies honor the relationships that matter most—Growers, Suppliers, Coworkers, Customers, Communities, Capital Providers, the Earth, and One Another. We honor these relationships through our 10 Commitments.

What It Means to Commit

Purpose Pledge is not a certification or a one-time pledge. Participating companies commit to an ongoing, accountable process of learning, benchmarking, and implementation across the 10 Commitments.

Pilot and future Purpose Pledge companies commit to:
  • Benchmarking progress across all 10 Commitments using credible metrics and third-party standards
  • Participating in peer learning and accountability, including shared reflection, problem-solving, and mutual support
  • Developing a 3-year implementation plan to operationalize each commitment within their organization
  • Sharing learnings and capabilities to strengthen the broader Purpose Pledge community
  • Engaging in continuous improvement, recognizing that progress is iterative and context-specific

Purpose Pledge is designed for companies willing to move beyond intention and toward accountable, long-term practice.
