Member Spotlight: Shadi Bakour—CEO of Pathwater
Shadi Bakour— CEO of Pathwater and OSC Core Chapter Member, takes five to reflect on 5 simple questions. Enjoy!
OSC: What is your hometown?
SB: I grew up in San Carlos, CA, but my parents came from Jordan and Syria.
OSC: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
SB: I trained Shaolin Martial Arts at the Shaolin Temple in Zhenzhou, China when I was 13 years old.
OSC: What is it about the mission of your company that really ignites you?
SB: Creating a sustainable product that can help keep single-use plastic water bottles out of the ocean. Creating a better world for future generations to come.
OSC: What’s a favorite childhood memory of food that you have?
SB: I ate A LOT as a baby. One of my favorite foods was called bamya, a Middle Eastern stew made from okra, tomato, rice, and meat. I couldn’t chew my food yet so my mom would blend it then put it in a bottle for me!
OSC: What’s one thing that keeps you up at night?
SB: One thing that has really helped me in business is realizing that worrying is not a productive use of time. I sleep well every night so that I can tackle the next day fully focused and ready to take on any challenge!
