Despite COVID Headwinds, The Town Kitchen, PBC Acquires Local Granola Company, Oat Cuisine
OAKLAND, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 1, 2021 / Today The Town Kitchen (TTK), PBC announced that they acquired Oat Cuisine, a 38-year-old granola company specializing in handmade granola blends, to enhance its retail, brand and e-commerce presence. Oat Cuisine products can be found in grocery stores in the Bay Area, such as Whole Foods, Draegers, and Berkeley Bowl, corporate cafes, restaurants, hotels and via direct purchase from their website oatcuisine.com.
“I’m so glad we have been able to build a partnership with TTK,” said Oat Cuisine’s founder, Linda Romine. “I trust their leadership and admire their community-driven, underserved youth training focus which will compliment Oat Cuisine’s legacy and provide a broader interaction for its retail presence. After 38 years of running Oat Cuisine, or Oat Cuisine running me, I will be stepping away. I’m very proud of what we could do with just a few dedicated people, Oat Cuisine was as much an art and life project as a food business” I have confidence in The Town Kitchen to take the reins and lead my little granola business into the future.
The purchase of Oat Cuisine strengthens TTK’s retail presence while expanding job opportunities for underserved young adults. Over the next few months, Oat Cuisine and TTK will work to integrate the companies and develop combined marketing strategies as well as new product innovations. “We’re ecstatic that Linda has entrusted TTK to continue to grow and nurture the Oat Cuisine brand offerings,” said Eric Quick, CEO of The Town Kitchen. “The team at TTK is ready for this growth opportunity. The purchase of Oat Cuisine will expand our ability to provide living-wage positions through new job training with baking, e-commerce and other administrative functions.”
TTK will continue to use Oat Cuisine’s original recipes for its granola in order to maintain its signature taste for their loyal customers. “I am very pleased that our customers can enjoy the fine granola they are accustomed to. Our crew has already been warmly welcomed and will lead the granola production team with their experience in making our recipes.” offered Linda Romine.
Oat Cuisine will continue to operate under that name and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Town Kitchen, PBC.
